Music is the Universal language of Mankind.
Wind And Strings - Hindustani Concert by Two famous artists from two continents, an American ‘Phil Scarff’ performs of North Indian classical music on soprano saxophone, an Indian ‘ Jaywant Naidu’ performs North Indian Classical music on the Hawaiian/Slide Guitar.
On Friday 9th February 2018 at 6.00pm, at the Telangana State Gallery of Art, Madhapur, Hyderabad.

Two western musical instruments … Two continents…. an American and an Indian…. but the music is common-eastern all the way…. the saxophone may sound like a shehnai and the Hawaiian guitar like a sitar…. and what can the blowing winds and the plucking strings create? Artists:-

PHIL SCARFF: Phil Scarff is pioneering the performance of North Indian classical music on soprano saxophone, exquisitely capturing the subtlety and depth of this music on this Western instrument. Indian classical performances include India's Tansen Sangeet Samaroh (Gwalior), Nehru Center and Dadar-Matunga Cultural Centre (Mumbai), Saptak School of Music (Ahmedabad), Hirai Music Festival (Chandrapur), Indian Council for Cultural Relations Theater and India Habitat Centre (Delhi), and Deval Club (Kolhapur). Phil is also a master jazz saxophonist and is featured on over 35 CDs/DVDs.

JAYWANT NAIDU: Jaywant Naidu performs North Indian classical music on the Hawaiian/Slide Guitar. His music has been broadcast on Radio Netherlands. He is the first musician to perform North Indian Classical Music on Hawaiian Guitar at Penang –YTL Arts Festival and the Asthana Mandapam of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.Jaywant Naidu has been awarded a patent for his unique musical innovation 'Jaywant Guitar '.Times Music has released his audio album ‘Matsya Urbashi’.He has also produced a video album with American Trumpet player Charlie Porter and 'Vande Mataram' with Rajasthani folk musicians.
