About the Seminar

L. T. Jeyachandran will discuss about the implications of being cross-bearing disciples, challenging our complacency, and being a better witness at the marketplace.
Day 1Reflections on the Cross - 9:00am to 5:00pm (Lunch 1pm to 2pm)
Our rebellion against God in Genesis 3 makes us prone to control and manipulate one another; the cross is God’s radical way of dealing with this by taking the paradoxical course of deliberately losing control over His creation and allowing His creatures to crucify His Son! We shall look at the implications for us as cross-bearing disciples of Christ.
Day 2: What is the Church All About? 9:00am to 11:30am
“The Church is the only society that exists for the benefit of its non-members” – so said William Temple, Archbishop of Canterbury. As spiritual descendants and heirs of Abraham, we are supposed to be a blessing to all of creation. We need to challenge our present complacency of selfishly demanding blessings for ourselves instead of asking what God wants us to be in our society of injustice and exploitation.
Will Break for Lunch at 12:00 noon until 1:00pm
Day3: God in the Marketplace - 1:00pm to 5:00pm
There is a tendency to think that true spiritualty has nothing to do with what we do from Monday to Friday/Saturday. In this session, we will examine the first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve in Genesis 1:28 and how work in the marketplace is part of obeying that commandment.
